SECOND MEETING
of
APOLOGETIC SOCIETY
February, 17, 2003

(5 more people was need to be
on this picture, but some of them was not able to come or had to go early)
PLAN of the meeting
Open prayer
1. Testimony of ex-Mormon (unfortunately he didn't come for
organizational reasons)
2. Definition of the term "cult" - Dmitry Rozet.
We tried to determine the common base for our future communications and research.

3. Open discussion "Definition of the term "cult""

4. Define the name of our society - after discussion voted
for the name "Christian Apologetic Society"
5. Tried to determine what kind of activity our Society could
maintain, suggested following things (in priority order):
- Interconnect information space, apologetic union
- Share with practical experience
- Lectures, pastors conferences, consultations e.t.a.
- Distribution of the counter-cult and apologetic
information
- Common projects (like JW's outreach)
- Developing researches on cults
- Publishing Year digest of our researches or speeches
- To work with mass media and help them (in a good
way) to speak about cults
6. Discussed plans for the future meeting:
- Testimony of ex-Mormon (cause he was not able to
participate on the meeting this time)
- Discussion - ethical principles of Christian Apologetics
(based on EMNR documents) - Dima. I think after definitions would be good
to establish some good principles in our work and to show the high standards
of our mission.
- Christian Apologetic Society web-site - goals of
this site, example of how it could look like and what we need on it.
During the discussions we had sandwiches, soda and some cookies,
also we bough a cake to "celebrate" the first official meeting and
giving the name to our small society. (I thought that it might be a good emotional
part of our meeting, when we were able to seat around and speak, or dream about
our future).

For this meeting I had several goals:
- To continue developing relationships among our group;
- Establish CfAR view to the term "cult" - discuss this
- To have coordinated name of our society.
- To find main questions, which are appearing among modern apologets and
how our participants understand this.
- To define goals and evaluate them, goals, that everybody would like
to see in our society.
- Establish plans for the next meeting (next meeting could be at May,
19)
For my mind we achieved all this goals and are ready to go
forward. One of the intermediate step between this and next meeting would be
JW's memorial. I would need to suggest and establish plans for it. And if people
would like to help, we would be glad to use them.
